To live an acne free life may sound a bit overboard but getting control of acne is very important. Why is it important? Because it has probably been running and ruining your life up to now. If you have a very severe case you might want to see a dermatologist.

The answers are normally under your nose, therefore in most cases a visit to the dermatologist is not needed, but you need to know what you’re dealing with.

The three main agents of acne are oil, dirt and bacteria. The oil is something your body is producing. The dirt is acne’s worst enemy. The bacteria are eliminated within the oil from your body. This, combined with dead skin cells, clog your skins pores and cause a reaction from being clogged, then becoming infected.

All this results in acne, so invariably it is a reaction. When the pored become clogged and congested pimples form. Bacteria helps to spread the infection and you have a breakout.

The dirt is the easiest to get rid of, simply keep the area clean by washing. The real issue is the overproduction of oil and bacteria.

Excess oil is secreted from the body through sweat, which is why sweat has an odor. Acne results if this process is blocked, so if you want to control acne you have to keep pores unclogged and remove dead skin cells and dirt.

You have to pamper and take care of yourself and the acne, it is more important than trying to rid yourself of it. Proper, thorough maintenance from your side is therefore needed.

Ongoing acne maintenance is essential, like a job, but it is a job that will be worth while at the end of the day.

You will have to scrub with a defoliant scrub pad twice a day. This will help to remove dead skin cells from the skin surface. You also have to follow this up with a mild soap and soft cotton cloth 3 times a day to clean the acne area.

Only use all natural, mild treatments. You should never use harsh chemical products unless you have a sever case of acne. These chemicals are so harsh that they make the acne worse so read the labels before buying any treatment.

You have to treat acne from the outside and the inside. Your diet is important. Pay attention to what you eat if you find that you are having breakouts. Many junk foods have additives and preservatives that could cause an allergic reaction while being processed.

Most processed foods have additives and preservatives, these could cause an allergic reaction whice your body is processing them. Pay attention to the food you eat, especially junk food, because you may find that after eating these that they cause you to have a break out. Watch your food habits, because acne should not only be treated from the outside, but also from the inside.
