Sometimes known as “sauna on the go”, a far infrared sauna is indeed quite portable and easy to use. For those who live in small spaces or move frequently, this portability is a large part of the draw.

The health benefits of infrared sauna are many and I will quickly cover them here so that you have an idea of what to expect from this technology. Firstly before you use the sauna drink some water, I know this may sound obvious but never get in there after you have had lots to drink.

This should go without saying; but don’t get into a sauna after heavy drinking - it is far too easy to get dehydrated this way. Infrared rays penetrate deep into your body, causing more sweating than does a traditional type of sauna. Any sauna will make you sweat, but these infrared saunas will promote more sweating with less heat - so you can spend more time in it.

Traditional saunas can be difficult to breathe in, but this is not at all the case with an infrared sauna. I usually spend about forty minutes in the sauna and bring something to read. The sweating an infrared sauna promotes and helps your skin to eliminate toxins from your body. It is also beneficial for your circulation and can alleviate muscle aches and pains. This is healthy and relaxing.

Many different types of portable saunas are on the market. There are extremely portable fold-up models, which can be taken nearly anywhere and other models which closely resemble a traditional style of sauna; but are far more simple to install and remove for moving.

Then there is the truly portable sauna that is like a package. This you get in and your arms and head protrude out of it, kind of looks weird to be honest but yet it is effective. In this case you could watch TV in your room or read a magazine while taking a sauna at the same time. The rest of your body is within the sauna but your hands and head are not.

Personally I prefer the enclosure style, I like to feel that I am in a sauna, but if you want take a sauna regularly and you rent a property for example, this type of sauna may work very well for you.

In summary, infrared saunas are a really effective tool to improve your health. When in them it may take a while to start to sweat and because it is not so hot inside, you almost feel like you are wasting your time, but then out of nowhere beads of sweat start to pour from your body and trust me you will feel really refreshed afterwards, especially after a nice shower. .
