For one reason or another, you are thinking of adding a Siberian Husky to your life. Perhaps you know of a family member who has to give up his or her dog, or came across a Siberian Husky in a local animal rescue public function. Siberian Huskies are incredibly beautiful dogs that perhaps you’ve admired from afar. But do you have what it takes to become a good Siberian Husky owner?

It is generally thought that Siberian Huskies take longer to train than many other breeds of dog not because they are incapable of learning, but they won’t waste their energies if they think your commands are pointless. The joke among Siberian Husky owners is that when you teach a Husky a command, he’ll immediately set about thinking of a better way to do it. Don’t be afraid or shy to get professional help in training a Husky.

You need to be aware of some Siberian Husky information before you bring one of these magnificent dogs home. They shed. They do very badly in hot, humid climates. They do very badly with the first time dog owner. They do very badly with timid people or the physically impaired. These dogs do not make good watchdogs, although they do bark on occasion. These dogs like to dig in your yard, so get used to it.

Huskies often had to fend for themselves in extreme wintry conditions that would quickly kill most other breeds of dogs. Siberian Huskies still have one foot in the wild. It is unlikely that will ever be bred out of them.

Siberian Huskies, if given proper exercise and persistent handling, can become very obedient dogs. If they get spayed or neutered, this also helps them to stay in a juvenile state of mind and look to you as their parents for leadership.

Siberian Huskies need to be persuaded to do anything, but once you’ve persuaded them, they do it. You cannot force these dogs. They will become dangerous otherwise.

Beating this dog will not work, as they will take either your arm off or just curl up in a corner and will not move. You need positive reinforcement, tender loving care and a sense of humor. Get professional help if you are at your wits end.

The moviegoer learns later that the young, stupid master is quite a nice guy and is concerned for not only destroying all vampires, but taking care of his dog. And they showed Nanook enjoying a big back yard as well as living in a house. That is a good way to think of the personality of a Siberian Husky.
